Fulton County Workforce Utilizes Technology To Stay Connected

August 24, 2015Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments3 Mins Read

United Way WEB(WAUSEON, OH) — The Fulton County Workforce Development OhioMeansJobs office is moving full steam ahead. “Our goal is to provide resources and opportunities to those seeking jobs and ultimately connect employers with employees, and visa vera,” says Cara Leininger, Workforce Development Coordinator. Leininger took over the Workforce Development Coordinator position in the spring of 2015. One of her goals has been to create additional resources for those searching for employment. “We’ve already got a one-stop shop atmosphere in our office,” notes Leininger, “and now we are further extending our resources to social media and email/text.”

Over the past few weeks, Leininger has created a Twitter account @FultonWorkforce and added a Job Leads of the Week tab on the Fulton County Workforce Development Webpage. “With today’s mobile technology, we wanted to be able to offer more information via the means of social media,” Leininger notes. Every Wednesday, the Workforce Development office posts “Job Leads of the Week” to their website, Fulton County’s Facebook and Twitter pages as well as the Workforce Development Twitter page. Job opportunities from all communities of Fulton County are listed as they come available, and are not limited to specific industries. “We make sure to keep the list diverse, not always highlighting the same jobs or even the same types of jobs each week. There are also a range of experience and different industry highlighted on these postings as well,” Leininger states. This new tool is not only beneficial for the current job seeker of all age levels, but also for a student who is away at college and may want to stay apprised on the types of opportunities that exist in Fulton County.

Don’t tweet? The Workforce Development webpage, located on at www.fultoncountyoh.com/workforcedevelopment has a link where one can visit the current job leads of the week. Additionally, one can sign up to receive texts, emails or both by visiting the Notify Me tab on the same website, and signing up to receive the weekly notices.

The Workforce Development Office, located in the Detwiler Building at 604 S. Shoop Ave., Suite 110 in Wauseon, offers a resource room with printed materials, internet access, copy machine, fax machine, telephones and local job postings for the public. They are open from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Leininger and her staff are available to assist with needs. They also offer a computer lab for assessment, skills training and job searches.
