Gertrude M. Rivera, age 82, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 5:13 A.M. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Defiance Regional Medical Center in Defiance after a brief illness.
Gertrude was Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked as a surgical nurse in Virginia and as a dietician at Bryan Nursing Care Center in Bryan. She attended Melbern United Methodist Church and was an avid Sudoku fan, thrift store shopper and loved making floral arrangements.
Gertrude was born on March 3, 1937, in Grundy, Virginia, the daughter of Gallie F. and Mary Marie (Stiltner) Ramey. She married Vidal Rivera and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Survivors include, her children, Susie (Kurt) Mack, of McComb, Michigan, Mildred Mullins, of Coco Beach, Florida, Lori Mullins, of Sherwood, John Kelly, of Princeton, Virginia and Rita Rivera, of Plymouth, Michigan; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Snow (Joe) Bear, of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles Mullins, a brother, Bobby and sister, Joy.
Gertrude will be laid to rest at Williams Center Cemetery with her husband. Krill Funeral Service, 860 west Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio has been entrusted with arrangements.
