The Gorham Township Board of Trustees held their meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026. The meeting began at 7 p.m. with the approval of the June 1 meeting minutes. Trustees also approved warrants and payroll totaling $17,278.83 and reviewed purchase orders.
Tyler Miller then discussed township maintenance and updated trustees on the Road R culvert project, noting that basins had been picked up from Mack Industries.
Ditch mower parts have also been ordered, though some are on back order. He also reported that the vac truck only needs batteries installed before it can be used.
Miller said Road 25 may need more stone after the expected rain, while additional stone and tile work are needed around the Road R basins to help water flow.
Fire Chief Tom Franks reported that vehicle 309 had been towed for repairs after a radio module issue. The repair cost was estimated at about $500. He also said he needs to check tanker 302 after being told the air conditioner was not working.
Trustees approved hiring Wieland Surveying and Engineering LLC to survey parcel number 18-036320-01.000, split the parcel and set pins for $950. The cost will be paid from the general fund.
Trustee Brian Towers said he planned to contact Gerken about replacing and updating crossovers at basins. Road R tree work may begin next week through Randall Tree Service, while Marzolf Lane remains on hold.
Towers also said he would like to review Marzolf Lane to determine how many property owners may need to be contacted about a perpetual road easement.
The engineer’s office has surveyed the lane, with pink markings showing where the center of the lane is supposed to be.
The township is waiting on plates for its new truck before recall work can be completed. Trustees also discussed another complaint involving Repsol for alleged trespassing.
Fiscal Officer Lauren Lester reported that the township received the certificate of result of election for the cemetery levy, which passed. She also said the township is waiting for a formal audit letter after meeting with the auditor.
Trustees were informed that the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation approved the township’s Safety Innovation Grant application for $6,618.75. The Huntington CDARS statement for May also showed $570.03 in interest earned.
Lester said work the township completes on its own may be eligible for OPWC grant or loan coverage if receipts and proper forms are submitted.
The issue is expected to return for a motion at the next meeting. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
