High School Baseball Roundup For May 18th

Division IV Sectional Semifinals

Edgerton 13 MVCD 0

Gannon Ripke allowed just two hits and had five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings on the mound as Edgerton (12-15) knocked off Maumee Valley Country Day 13-0. Jordan Warner led the Edgerton effort by going 2-3 with an RBI and Corey Everetts was 1-2 with a run batted in.

North Central 11 Hilltop 1 (5 innings)

Ben Pettit had three hits and three RBIs and Zack Hayes tossed a five inning two-hitter as the Eagles defeated Hilltop (6-18) 11-1. North Central (13-10), who collected 12 hits in the game, got two hits apiece from Hayes, Quin Burt, Kaiden Russell, and Sam Wheeler.

Hicksville 13 Stryker 3 (6 innings)

Leading 2-1 after three innings, the Aces scored 11 runs in the final three innings to pull away for the win over the Panthers. Joseph Ramon and Jacob Cadwell were both 2-3 for Stryker (0-14) in the loss.

Regular Season

Fairview 11 Swanton 1 (6 innings)

Drew Smigelski gave Swanton (3-23) an early lead with a first inning RBI double, but it was all Apaches after that as they picked up an 11-1 win. Kaden Curtis added two singles for the Bulldogs.

Defiance 11 Bryan 2

Defiance put runs on the board in six of the seven innings to beat Bryan (11-14) 11-2 in a tournament tune-up game for both teams. Breven Deckrosh and Keith Huard each recorded a double for the Golden Bears.
