BOYS BASKETBALL

Archbold 50 Pettisville 32

ARCHBOLD – The Bluestreaks had three players return to the lineup as they picked up a 50-32 nonconference win over Pettisville. Archbold (5-3) owned a 39-22 advantage on the boards and shot 20/52 (38%) from the field while the Blackbirds connected on 12/39 for 31%.

Alex Roth and Ashton Kammeyer, two of the Bluestreak returners, paced the scoring with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Cayden Jacoby led the way for Pettisville (5-3) with five field goals and two free throws for 12 points.

Swanton 56 MVCD 25


SWANTON – The Bulldogs (8-1) took a 29-14 lead the break and rolled to a 56-25 win the championship game of the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic. No stats were reported.

Fostoria 52 Evergreen 49 (2OT)

METAMORA – Fostoria moved to 3-4 on the year as they outlasted Evergreen (3-5) in the title game of the 2021 Northwest Ohio Holiday Classic. No stats were reported.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Evergreen, 50-16


Wauseon 47 Cardinal Stritch 45

PAULDING – Wauseon outscored Stritch 13-3 in the second quarter and were able to hold on for the win in the title game of the State Bank Holiday Classic despite going 10/23 (43%) at the foul line. Jonas Tester, who was named Tournament MVP, had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Wauseon (7-3) while Matt Shaw had 12.

Fremont (IN) 73 North Central 30

PIONEER – Fremont drained nine three pointers and went 8/8 at the free throw line to get a 73-30 win in the semifinals of the JJ Winn Holiday Tournament. The Eagles, who are now 4-3 on the year, were led in scoring by Joey Burt with 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Perrysburg 24 Archbold 21

PERRYSBURG –The Bluestreaks led 20-15 after three quarters but were outscored 9-1 in the final stanza as they fell to the Yellow Jackets 24-21. Addi Zeigler was the only Bluestreak (5-6) in double figures with 10.

Montpelier 61 Stryker 33

BRYAN – Ariel Page tallied 14 points to help Montpelier (9-2) to a third-place finish in the Image Pro Holiday Classic with a 61-33 win over Stryker. Chelsea McCord had 13 and Trinity Richmire chipped in with 12 for the Locos. Stryker (5-5) was topped in the scoring column by Alexia Wickerham who had 12.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Montpelier, 36-29

Wauseon 57 Holgate 31

NAPOLEON – Marisa Seiler had 23 points and Autumn Pelok added 15 to lead Wauseon (8-0) past Holgate in the semifinals of the Northwest Signal Holiday Classic.

Leipsic 31 Swanton 20

SWANTON – The Leipsic Vikings took home the title at the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic by knocking off Swanton (7-4) 31-20. No stats were reported.

Northwood 48 Fayette 25

SWANTON – Northwood placed third in the Bob Fisher Holiday Classic after their 48-25 win over Fayette (0-9). No stats were reported.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Fayette, 27-13

Hilltop 54 Ottawa Hills 17

SYLVANIA – Hilltop (7-5) took control with a 17-2 lead after one quarter as they defeated Ottawa Hills 54-17 to win the championship of the Warrior Holiday Classic. Leanna Baker recorded eight field goals and one free throw for 17 points to lead Hilltop.
