Noelle Chester and Kayne Grime will reign over Hilltop’s Homecoming festivities Friday, September 21 held prior to the Cadets’ football game against the Ottawa Hills Green Bears.
Chosen as Homecoming Queen, Noelle Ann Marie Chester is the daughter of David and Michelle Chester. She has two older brothers, Trayce and Josh and a younger sister, Jamie. A senior at Hilltop, Noelle is involved in SWAT, softball, golf, marching band, concert band, pep band and Quiz Bowl. She is also president of the senior class. Outside of school Noelle is involved with the Solid Rock Core Youth Group and has spent the last two summers directing the West Unity summer recreation program. She enjoys drawing and plans to go to college to become an art teacher. Her ultimate goals are to “get married, have a family and be happy.”
Escorting Noelle is Kayne Grime. The son of Troy and Jeri Grime, Kayne has two siblings, Marley and Kelby. Kayne is active in football, basketball, track, FFA, and SWAT. Her non-school activities include working part-time at Kamco, hanging out with friends and snowboarding. Taylor plans to attend either Miami University or The Ohio State University to major in pre-med. Eventually, she plans to become a plastic surgeon.
Matthew Schmitt, son of Tom and Lori Schmitt, is the senior escort. He has two brothers Jared Dubois and Dominik Schmitt. Matthew’s school activities include golf, FFA and track. When he’s not in school Matthew enjoys golfing, paintballing, youth group and daydreaming. Upon graduation he intends to join the military.
The junior attendant is Emily Grace Maneval. The daughter of Scott and Melissa Maneval she has two siblings, Alex and Timothy. President of the junior class, Emily is also involved in cross country, track, marching, concert and pep bands as well as Spanish Club. She is the reigning 2012 Miss West Unity and enjoys many forms of dance including jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical and pointe. She teaches dance classes and enjoys baking as well. Emily hopes to attend The Ohio State University majoring in biology on the pre-med track with an eye to becoming an OB/GYN. Once that is accomplished she plans to start a family and live a long, happy, healthy life.
Junior escort is Miklo Abner, son of Maria Abner. Miklo has three siblings, Zoey, J. and Angel. His school activities include football, basketball and baseball. Outside of school he enjoys “soccer with Kayne Grime and babysitting.” Miklo plans to attend Oregon University to study physical therapy.
Adreyn Yates, daughter of Laurina and Steve Sauber, is the sophomore attendant. She has one sister, Savannah. Adreyn is vice president of the sophomore class and is a member of student council. She is a teacher aid and is a member of the volleyball and softball teams. Outside of school, Adreyn participates in Senior Night at Living Hope Free Methodist and Summer Softball. She hopes to get a scholarship to OSU for a medical degree. Once she goes to med school Adreyn would then like to move to a big city and travel around the world.
Escorting Adreyn is David Smith, son of Angie Jones and Roger Smith. He has two siblings, Brittany and Brian. David’s school activities include football and serving as a teacher aid. Freshman escort will be Nathaniel Ryan Dorsey, the son of Val and Tom Engel. He has two sisters, Staci Whetro and Olivia Engel. While he says he “does nothing” while in school, outside of school he participates in the youth group at Living Hope Free Methodist. He also does homework because, “It’s for home, right?” He plans to attend college studying psychology. Eventually he would like to work toward a degree in psychiatry.
