WEST UNITY:  May 09- The Hilltop Lady Cadets played host to Holgate on May 9, downing the visiting Tigers 6-5 in a closely decided contest that was decided in a thrilling 7th inning.  The Lady Cadets allowed 2 runs in the top of the 7th, bringing Holgate to within 1, but Hilltop held tough and came out on top.

Jessica Suboski earned the victory on the mound, striking out 4 in the game while allowing just 1 walk.  Suboski gave up 14 hits, but the Lady cadet defense held runners in check throughout the game.

For Hilltop at the plate, Brittany Mocherman went 2 for 3 at the plate, powering in 2 RBI’s.  Allie Schmitt, LeAnn Joost and Hannah Bleikamp all connected for 2 base shots in the victory, with Schmitt driving in an RBI.  Bailey Funkhouser also connected for a hit driving in a run and Adreyn Yates  drove in a run off of a sacrifice hit.
