Lady Locomotives Overpower Visiting Stryker Lady Panthers At Home 11-1

MONTPELIER:  May 09- The Montpelier Lady Locomotives played host on May 9 to the BBC’s Stryker Panthers, turning back the Lady Panthers 11-1 to move to 8 and 9 on the year.

Jessy Duchene earned the victory on the mound for Montpelier throwing 5 innings and allowing 8 hits on the day, but with a solid defensive effort by Montpelier, Stryker left runners stranded all afternoon.

In the win, the Locomotives had a nice day in the batter’s box with 7 batters recording hits.  Leslie Clark connected for a triple while Breanna Stein and Duchene connected for doubles.  Sydney Houk, Taylor Wells Christy Duchene and Regan Steffes all connected for singles in the game, with Steffes and Houk going for 2.  Wells had 3 base shots .

For the Lady Panthers, Conner Varner was tagged with the setback, allowing 11 hits on the loss. Varner, Conner Sullivan, Tasha Pegorch, Samantha Walters and Emily Cadwell all recorded hits, with Walters, Pegorch and Sullivan credited with 2 on the afternoon.
