John Word, age 64, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident, north of Oak Harbor, Ohio.
He was born to DeWayne and Ruby (Bollinger) Word on June 29, 1952, in Angola, Indiana.
John was a very happy go lucky young man. He loved to pick on his grandchildren, nieces & nephews, or whomever he came in contact with. He was a great friend to many, and best friends with his dog, Bruiser.
John worked at Metal Spinners in Angola, Indiana for more than 35 years. He also worked at Simpsons in Fremont, Indiana, for 10 years. At the present time he was employed by Sunrise Donuts.
Surviving John are his two children, Amy (Word) Smith of Angola, Indiana, and Eric Word of Illinois, eight grandchildren, Breanna, Cammie, Shae, Hannah, Ashley, Alexis, Aubrey, and Trinton, and a great-grandson, Xavier Broock, three sisters, Cheri (Word) Hantz, Nancy (Dick) Wilson, and Laura (Bob) Gallogly.
He was preceded in death by his father, DeWayne “Dinkie” Word in 2005, his mother, Ruby Word in 2008, and a brother, Roger Word in 2005.
