Mabel was born November 15, 1915, in Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Adam and Minnie (Siegel) Coulon. She was a 1933 graduate of West Unity High School. She married Leroy F. Jacoby on April 3, 1938 in West Unity, and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1993.
Mabel was a devoted wife and mother, who assisted her husband in operating the family farm. She also ran “Mabel’s Market” near Harrison Lake, which featured her baked goods. She was a member of the West Franklin Church of Christ. Mabel was known to be a “people person” and a hard worker. She was known for her fruit pies. She also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her two children, Richard (Brenda) Jacoby of Archbold, Ohio and JoAnn Weiss of West Unity; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Suzette) Jacoby of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Scott (Sheri) Jacoby of Sylvania, Ohio, Crystal (Doug) Bauer of West Unity and Tiffany Weiss of West Unity; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, Nicholas, Brian, Alexander and Melissa Jacoby, Alisha and Lance Bauer; one brother, Dale Coulon.
