Kenneth C. Gorsuch, age 92, of Wauseon, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Swanton Valley Center in Swanton.
He was born on May 27, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Herthel and Lula (Ruger) Gorsuch. On January 26, 1947, he married Jean A. Lawrence, and she preceded him in death in March of 2002. He then married Rosetta Nofziger in 2003, and she survives.
Prior to his retirement, Kenneth worked for Jeep for 30 years. After retirement, he owned and operated a construction company, Gorsuch-Demaline Construction. He was also a farmer. Kenneth kept very active during his life. He was the treasurer for Wauseon FISH for 20+ years, an active member of Zion United Methodist Church – serving on the administrative board, chairman of the Pastoral Parish Committee, a trustee, teaching Sunday School, and maintenance of the church.
He loved to golf, play cards (especially Pepper), gardening and yard work, fixing things (especially with duct tape), being at the lake, going to Florida, coffee and ice cream, and was a business guy. Kenneth loved people – especially his grandkids. His family describes him as a collector of “stuff”. He would often say it’s all for sale, but never sold a thing.
Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are sons, Tom (Jess) Gorsuch, Tim (Jackie) Gorsuch, and Terry (LuAnn) Gorsuch; step-sons, Randall Nofziger and Russell (Hannah) Nofziger; step-daughters, Rowena (William) Downing and Rachelle (Fred) Ziegler; sisters, Shirley Clevenger, Ruth Ann (Richard) Barber, and Marcella (Don) Linn; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a granddaughter, Jennifer Gorsuch; and a brother-in-law, Jim Clevenger.
Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Zion United Methodist Church, 4533 County Road 11, Wauseon, Ohio. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, also at Zion United Methodist Church, with Pastor Don Krieger, officiating. Interment will precede services at 10:00 AM at the Zion Cemetery, also on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Kenneth’s memory be directed to Ohio Living Hospice, Swanton Valley Center Memory Care Unit, or the Zion United Methodist Church.
