August 25th: The eighth grade Pettisville volleyball team began its season with a big win. Going against the Golden Bears of Bryan, the Lady Blackbirds rose to the occasion and won the match, not only in straight sets, but convincingly as well.
Pettisville began the match on fire, taking game 1, 25-11. The Lady Golden Bears tried to mount a comeback, but to no avail. Game 2 saw Pettisville control the set, 25-17.
Winning the match put Pettisville at 1-0 on the young season.
