Lamar Miles Sent To Prison For Fulton County Crimes Causing Amber Alert

July 10, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Lamar Miles, a 35-year-old man from Willowick, Ohio, was recently sentenced in Fulton County Common Pleas Court after being the subject of an Amber Alert.

He had previously pleaded guilty to several charges, including attempted kidnapping, endangering children, failure to comply with a police officer’s order, and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The attempted kidnapping charge was amended from a first-degree felony to a second-degree felony. Additionally, forfeiture orders for a 2023 Kia Sportage and an iPhone Max were included in three of the counts against him.

Miles was sentenced to a minimum of two years and 9 months and a maximum of three years at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs, and his operator’s license was suspended for three years. Furthermore, he will receive credit for 40 days already served.

Miles attempted to remove a child under the age of 13 from where they were found, endangered children, failed to comply with a police officer’s order, and operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

These actions led to the issuance of an Amber Alert, and the subsequent rescue of a 1-year-old Cleveland girl from her alleged kidnapper by the Swanton Police and Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Miles was originally indicted on one count of kidnapping, a first-degree felony; one count of abduction, a third-degree felony; two counts of menacing by stalking, and one count of endangering children, among other charges.

The Village Reporter reported on the indictment on November 2023.
