WAUSEON—Local author Joy Bowser will host a book talk and signing at the Wauseon Public Library on Saturday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s Reading Room. She will share excerpts from her book, “A Wife and a Witness—Loving Your Spouse to the Lord.”
The Book Talk & Signing are free, and the public is invited to attend. Bowser will have books available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will also be available during the Book Talk.
According to Bowser, “This book represents years of intense study in the Bible and following the Holy Spirit’s lead to become the kind of wife that my husband needed and the Lord could use. This was at a time when there seemed to be no other books on the market to help me in those areas.” Bowser outlines specific biblical concepts to help build a stronger marriage, especially if a spouse is not saved.
Joy Bowser is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She lives in Liberty Center with her husband, Bill. Bowser shares, “I am a native of Northwest Ohio. I have lived in the Liberty Center area all of my life. From McDonald’s to office assistant with some factory stops in between; no one would have guessed the turn my life would take when a book emerged from my heart to inspire and encourage women in their marriages. Beginning the writing in 1998- thinking the book was done, receiving rejection after rejection and putting the project away, totally giving up until 2008 when after 6 months of illness caused me to leave my factory job- God reminded me and nudged me to try again! God’s timing was perfect, the manuscript was picked up by a Christian publishing company and finished under contract with the 10 more years of living added to it. Each page is an act of faith, based on scripture. Using examples from my own marriage as a guide, A WIFE AND A WITNESS encourages Christian wives to walk in a way to lead their spouse closer to God and closer as a couple. My husband Bill and I have been married for 33 years, are members of a local congregation and have raised three daughters. We are in the process of spoiling eight grandchildren. I have been a brownie leader, softball coach. I am currently a church pianist, Sunday School teacher and youth group advisor.”
