Local Obituary: Donna Roth-Dickson (1931 – 2025)

(Administrative Assistant For Fayette Schools)

FAYETTE – Donna Lucille (Farmer) Roth-Dickson, age 93, of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Swanton Valley Center, under the care of SouthernCare Hospice.

She was born in Defiance County on December 10, 1931, to the late Llyod and Edith (Kuhn) Farmer. Donna attended and graduated from Tiffin Township School in Defiance County.


She married Dorwin Jay Roth on March 9, 1953, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1985. She then married David H. Dickson, Jr. on September 19, 1987, and he also preceded her in death on November 22, 2019.

Donna worked as an administrative assistant for the principal of Fayette Schools for many years, until her retirement.

In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, keeping an amazing garden, and square dancing. She also had a talent of keeping kids in line! Donna was a member of Fayette Methodist Church for many years.

Surviving are her children, Rodney (Maryann) Roth, Larry (Carol) Roth, and Linda (Robert) Rothballer; step-children, Kathleen and Rebecca “Becky” Dickson, and Melissa (Chris) Christenson; grandchildren; Rebecca (Seth) Finnegan, Elizabeth (Adam) Rissmiller, Timothy (Hannah) Roth, Jeremy (DeAnna) Roth, Tacha (Todd Rowe) Roth, Olivia (Kevin) Yeupell, Nicholas Roth, Adam Rothballer, and Abby (Ryan) Ray, great-grandchildren; Hannah, Isaac, Lily, and James Finnegan, Ethan, Abigail, and Ellana Rissmiller, Julia, Sophia, Jack, Judah, Olivia, Emmaline, Ratianna, Jordan, and William Roth, Justin and Katelyn Yeupell, and Harper Ray; step-grandchildren, Ethan (Jana) and Megan Baker; step-great-grandchildren, Benjamin and James Baker, and a sister, Thelma Gasthe. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.


Visitation for Donna will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Mark Stiver, officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette.

Words of comfort may be offered to the family at www.eaglemarryfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations in Donna’s memory may be given to the family for future designation.

The Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette is assisting the family with arrangements.
