Local Obituary: Doyle Wines (1932 – 2025)

(Life Member Of Bryan American Legion)

Doyle L. Wines, age 92, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Hillside Country Living near Bryan.

Doyle worked as a machinist at Aro Corporation for many years prior to his retirement in 1997.

He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1952-1956, then served for another 10 years in the Reserves.

He was a life member of the Bryan American Legion Post 284, the American Legion group 40 & 8 and was a charter member of the AmVets.

Doyle L. Wines was born on July 1, 1932, in Center Township, Williams County, the son of Marion L. and Mary (Ross) Wines. He married Myrna N. Finch on September 14, 1956 and she survives.

Doyle is also survived by his sons, John D. Wines and David M. (Teresa) Wines, both of Bryan; daughter, Barbara A. (Tom) Brennan, of Wauseon; son-in-law, Dean Badenhop, of Napoleon; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon Badenhop; grandson, Ryan Wines; brother, James Wines and sisters, Patsy Wines, Judith Shaffer and Sharon Miller.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, OH and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Shiffler Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the combined Bryan American Legion/VFW Honor Detail and US Air Force Honor Guard.
