Locomotives Come Up Short At Liberty Center

February 9, 2015Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments1 Min Read

(February 6, 2015) – LIBERTY CENTER: Montpelier traveled to Liberty Center in search of their first win in a match against one of their NWOAL league opponents. Unfortunately, a strong opposing offense kept the Loco boys at the heels of the pawing Tigers.

Liberty Center’s dominance emerged early in the night. The roar of the Tigers was fueled by the 11 points scored within the first three minutes of the game. The energy only then exasperated when senior Jared Dishop crushed a slam-dunk after flying down court to end the first quarter up 16 points against the visiting team.

Scoring only 8 points against LC’s 24 in the first eight minutes of play, Montpelier added 18 more points by the half to catch up 39-26. Although the Locomotives would play a stronger second half, they would fall short to the Tigers 53-64.

Michael Blake and Nate McCord would be the top point contributors of the night, scoring 13 and 11 points respectively. Both teams showed an array of maneuverability towards the basket, shooting mainly from inside the three-point line throughout the evening. Montpelier would add another tough loss to their overall 3-14 record.
