Lois DeBacker (1948-2018)

Lois J. DeBacker, 70, of Lyons passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on July 24, 1948, to the late Harvey and Rosezella Beavers. She married Roger DeBacker on April 2, 1966, and he survives.

Lois was a CFP and CPA. She was the founder of Village Tax & Financial Services in Lyons. She was passionate about helping others and loved her clients. She touched many lives. She retired in 2017 due to her health.

Lois walked with Christ and was active in Jasper Bible Church. She always loved working in the nursery and with the children. Her faith was inspirational and she leaves a loving legacy on this Earth.

She is also survived by her three children, Brent (Cindy) DeBacker, Brian (Kristi) DeBacker, and Bridget (Wesley) McRobert; 11 grandchildren; and her brothers, Raymond Beavers, Roger (Abrigail) Beavers, and Leroy Beavers.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Tom Beavers; and their loving family pet, Mister.

There will be a funeral service for immediate family only. There will be a public Celebration of Life Memorial at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Jasper Bible Church, Jasper, Mich., for friends and extended family. Arrangements are entrusted to Weigel Funeral Home.

Due to allergies, in lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made in Lois’ memory to Jasper Bible Church, Ronald McDonald House or The Victory Center.
