The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Wednesday September 1st. The meeting was called to order followed by roll call with council members Jimmy Thornton and AJ Call absent.

Council heard from Fulton County Health Department representative Beth Thomas regarding marijuana. Beth and the council discussed opposing dispensaries in order to try to keep children safe from the negative effects that follow dispensaries entering the area.

The Village of Lyons does already have an ordinance prohibiting marijuana dispensaries from being in the village.

Council then discussed Fall letters that will be getting sent out to residents around September 10th. The new ebill payment system for water should be up and running sometime in mid-September.

Three new park signs were previously put up and there have been several positive comments made regarding them.

The Evergreen School Board is no longer asking for money for the EYA consolidation program but is instead looking for community support.

Construction for the new salt and brush bins has been completed. The next meeting will be held on October 4th at 7 p.m.

Trick or Treat will be held on October 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a costume contest taking place at the Fire Hall at the conclusion of Trick or Treat.

The annual FCEDC meeting will be taking place on October 14th at Sauders in Archbold. The Ohio Rural Water will be conducting a GIS mapping for the village with a grant that is taking place right now.

Outlets were added to four different corners around town as well as some new electric on West Morenci Street that will extend to Christmas decorations.

An application was submitted to receive money for HB168 for infrastructure and design costs. Three new hydrants were ordered that will replace existing ones.

Worthington Industries will be coming to install the basketball and pickleball court on September 28th on their Community Service Day. The meeting was then adjourned for the evening.
