Marjorie Hoops (1929 – 2023)

Marjorie A. Hoops, age 94, of Archbold, passed away on November 25, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. Marjorie spent her life caring for her family, home, and the family farm.

Marjorie was born on July 28, 1929, in Bad Axe, MI, to the late Lawrence and Martha (Bredow) Sams. On August 2, 1952, she married the love of her life, William Hoops, who preceded her in death in 2014.

Together, they cared for the family farm. Marjorie was a member of the First Church of God in Wauseon, where she taught Sunday School and supported many missions’ projects. She loved her family very much.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Suzie (Larry) Rupp of Stryker; daughter, Peggy Dressler of Quilcene, WA; daughter, Janet (Tony) Perez of Archbold; and son, Jim (Brenda) Hoops of Pettisville; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Ken Dressler; and two brothers.

A memorial service for Marjorie will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 4pm, at the First Church of God in Wauseon, with Pastor Mike Harmon officiating. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at the Wauseon Union Cemetery at another time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Voice of the Martyrs or the Fulton Co. Gideon Camp.
