Meet “Shuttleman” Scott Phillips At Bryan Main Library

scott phillipsOn Tuesday, March, 29 the Bryan Main Library will be hosting Williams County native “Shuttleman” Scott Phillips, a space shuttle historian, author and artist. “Shuttleman” will be returning to his childhood homeland to speak on his experiences working with NASA as an external tank logistics engineer.

Held in the Carnegie Room, Scott will be having a special teen event for kids in 5th grade and above at 3:30 pm and will then have a presentation from 6:00 to 7:45 pm for adults. In both programs, Mr. Phillips will talk about the 135 mission experiences he participated in and how his engineering skills work hand-in-hand with his artistic passion for carving stunning replicas of the space shuttles.

Scott will also be holding a book signing while visiting the library. WCPL is honored this author is willing to share his story and personally sign his interesting book REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT: A Memoir of a Space Shuttle Team Member for your reading pleasure. Copies of Mr. Phillips book will be available for cash purchase. Snacks and refreshments will be provided at all programs. Come and listen to the heartwarming stories of the “Shuttleman’s” years with NASA and pick up his out of this world book!
