Melissa Jo KuntzMelissa Jo Kuntz, age 35, of Delta, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, January 21, 2016 at her parents’ home in Avon Lake, OH.

Melissa was born in Avon Lake, OH on September 24, 1980 to William and Hilia Lucille Benedict.  She graduated from Avon Lake High School in 1998 and went on to earn an undergrad degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and a master’s in education from the University of Toledo in 2004.  On December 7, 2002 she married Ian Kuntz in Cleveland and together shared 13 loving years together.  She worked at home as a mother, homemaker, and substitute taught with area schools.  Melissa enjoyed being with her children, reading the Bible, scrapbooking and gardening.

Melissa is lovingly remembered by her husband Ian; daughter Natalie, and son Miles; the Kuntz’s of Wauseon and Delta; her parents Bill and Lucille Benedict; sister Lauren (Derek) Wilson; nephew Bradley; niece Heather; brother Scott (Elissa) Benedict; nieces Chloe and Olivia and brother Stephen Benedict.

Friends and family will be received from 3-8 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at North Clinton Church, 831 Linfoot St., (Co Rd F) Wauseon, Ohio 43567.  A memorial service honoring Melissa’s life will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday also at North Clinton Church.  Private family interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta prior to the service.  Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the future college education of her children, care of Ian Kuntz.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
