The structure of the Metamora Village Council meeting is a little different these days. While some of the Council members sat together, wearing masks and being socially distanced, some chose to join the meeting via teleconferencing.

Council voted to hire Tiffany Venia as a seasonal laborer for the Village. She will work up to 24 hours a week and will start early May. They are still looking for a part-time Fiscal Officer.

Tri-Angular Processing will not reopen for recycling until at least mid-June or early July. The Village will follow the lead of the Fulton County Commissioners regarding the waiving of late fees on sewage payments.

The traditional Park-O-Rama will not go on as scheduled this year. Council is still looking at options and could possibly still hold the Chicken BBQ. What that would look like is unknown at this time. More details will follow as restrictions change.

The Sheriff’s department worked 27 hours in March. 15 hours in the morning, 10.5 hours in the afternoon, 1.5 hours on the midnight shift.  They handled 6 complaints and 1 accident.

The next meeting will be Monday, May 18, 2020
