The Metamora Village Council held their meeting on Monday, December 5th. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance before council proceeded to approve the minutes from the November 21st meeting and November 23rd special meeting.
Reading of the bills was then passed before moving on to old business where council approved the following ordinances.
Ordinance 2022-20 approving how the 2nd water meters are handled for sewer credits for village residents who want yearly credits in October.
Ordinance 2022-21, passed with suspended rules, approving the countywide emergency management agency agreement between the Village of Metamora and the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency.
Moving to new business, a review took place of the 2023 holiday and council meeting schedule for the upcoming year.
The village fall festival needs to be added and is scheduled for October 14th, 2023.
Discussion then shifted to a bracket and wiring harness that is needed for the plow in order to attach it to the new work truck.
An estimate was received from Cobra at a cost of $2,100.00 for parts and labor. It was also stated that the salt spreader needs a harness as well.
Cobra does not have the part but stated that, if the village is able to get the part, they would be able to install it.
ABCO in Toledo has a wiring harness for the salt spreader for around $700.00.
It was stated that, if the village is able to get the plow bracket, wiring harness, toolboxes, and the wiring harness for the salt spreader, then the total cost with work completed by Cobra will be $5000.00.
Following the discussion, council moved to approve the purchase of the equipment and service.
Solar Bee was out at the lagoons on November 22nd and stated that everything is working properly.
They will be back in the spring to service them due to 3 inches of ice on the lagoons.
The budget for next year is being worked on. A dollar amount is needed to budget for repairs that need to be done from the CT Consultants sewer study.
It was suggested to budget $25,000 for repairs with council moving to approve the suggestion.
Expense line #A1-7X-270 was increased by $600.00 to purchase Christmas gift cards for employees.
Discussions then took place regarding where to serve hot chocolate and cookies next year.
Work has been taking place with insurance companies regarding dental and vision for the maintenance employees.
Cost will be received by the insurance company and a decision will be made during the next council meeting.
The mayor then stated that he will be attending the TMACOG meeting on January 20th, 2023.
With no other business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
