The Metamora Village Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Mossing opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. The council then approved the minutes from the previous meeting and paid the bills.
Mayor’s Report
-Reviewed the sheriff’s report for December.
-The deadline for the county’s CBDG grant application is May 7th. Some of the grants are based on income levels and address issues such as slums, blight, and urgent needs.
The village will explore the possibility of applying for small areas around town that require attention, possibly including sections of the sidewalk.
New Business
-Loar motioned to suspend the rules for Ordinance #2025-01 directing the mayor to enter into an agreement with an electric supplier through Aspen Energy Corp. to supply the Village of Metamora’s Electric Aggregation Program. Seconded by Siefker.

-Someone called the office inquiring about ice fishing at the reservoirs. Lumbrezer will call the insurance agent to see about liability. There may be a may to update our signs there.
Miller motioned to have M&H Auto Repair fix the rear main seal on the Ford truck for the amount of $1,350.00. Seconded by Siefker and approved by council.
-Loar gave an update on a meeting he attended re: SR 120 (Main St.) bridge replacement. A portion of Mike’s Repair Shop will be torn down sometime in February or March.
Road closure will be from the 1st of June to October. Residents will be sent letters from ODOT with information.
-The property owner at 413 Swanton Street called and asked for credit on his sewer/water bill due to the large amount and no one lives there. Someone from the county came and looked for a leak, they did not find one.

Council agreed that if there is no leak the water is being used, therefore the village is not responsible. Loar motioned to not reimburse, unless they can provide information that there was an issue. Seconded by Armstrong and approved by council.
Zoning Report
Jeff Pawlaczyk talked to the Wood County Building Inspector and he has not heard anything new re: the church on Main St. The owner of this property has until the fall of this year to do repairs.
With nothing further, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m. The next regular meeting is February 3rd.
