August 28th-STRYKER: Four games into the season, and the Lady Locomotives are in the win column. That the win came on the road makes the feat that much more admirable.

Their opponent, the Stryker Lady Panthers, didn’t make things easy for Montpelier, either. The match took four sets to complete, with a late Stryker rally almost gaining traction. Game 1 was all Montpelier, as they took the set 25-9. The Locos controlled game 2 as well, winning 25-14. The Panthers came roaring back, however, taking the third set 25-21. Montpelier was able to regain momentum, though, as they took the final set, 25-10.

Hannah Blake had a monster night for the Locos, dishing out 11 assists, 7 kills, and 7 aces, while scrounging up 8 digs and a block. Maddie Richmond had 8 digs as well, also making 2 aces. Morgan Erikson added 6 kills and 1 block to the Montpelier victory, while Baylee Hageman had 5 kills, 3 digs, 2 aces, and 1 block on the evening.

Allie Frisbie, of Stryker, handled the ball for her teammates with 9 assists, while also managing 2 aces.  Maddie Uribes made 8 assists and 2 kills. Sierra Walters had 5 kills, and Brittany Breier nailed 7 kills.
