MONTPELIER: April 10– The Montpelier Lady Locomotives opened NWOAL play with a narrow 6-5 victory over rival Bryan on April 10 at home.
In the win for Montpelier, Jessy Duchene recorded the victory on the mound to move her record on the season to 2-0, allowing just 13 hits while recording 3 strikeouts. Offensively for the Lady Locos, Marinna Mercer blasted a triple and a single in the game, while teammates Breanna Stein, Sidney Houk, Taylor Wells and Christy Duchene each hit for singles.
Montpelier moves to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the NWOAL.
