Montpelier Locomotive Host Swanton Bulldogs In NWOAL Action; Fall 5-2

MONTPELIER: MAY  2, 2014– The Locomotives took their home field on May 2, playing host to the Swanton Bulldogs, falling to the visiting Bulldogs  5-2 to fall to 1-6 in the NWOAL.

Parker Houk took the mound for Montpelier and was hit  with the loss, allowing 6 hits and advancing 4 batters by walk in the game resulting in 2 runs.  Also seeing action from the rubber, Josh Lewellen had a inning of work, but allowed 4 hits and 3 runs in the setback . The Loco defense also gave up 7 errors on the game.

At the plate for the Montpelier Locomotives , Cody Caudill, Jared Sargent each made contact for singles while Dalton Surbey, Andrew Luke Jared Shoup, Hunter McKelvey rounded out the Loco’s offensive output on the day with hits in the loss.

With the loss, Montpelier falls to 1-6 in the NWOAL and 4-14 overall on the season.
