MONTPELIER: MAY 1, 2014– The Locomotives took their home field on May 1, playing host to Evergreen on a cold and windy afternoon, falling to the visiting Vikings 7-1.
Cody Caudill took the mound for Montpelier and was tagged with the loss, allowing 4 hits and advancing 3 batters by walk in the game resulting in 5 runs. Also seeing action from the rubber, Hunter McKelvey and Parker Houk saw some work in the loss.
At the plate for Montpelier, Bryce Cooley drove a deep ball for a triple; Caudill and Jared Sargent each made contact for 2 singles and Dalton Surbey rounded out the Loco’s offensive effort on the day.
With the loss, Montpelier falls to 1-5 in the NWOAL and 4-13 overall on the season.
