(September 22nd, 2014)-AYERSVILLE: Playing the role of visitor, arrived on the Ayersville court with the odds stacked against them. Those odds proved to be too much to overcome, as the Lady Locomotives lost the match in straight sets.
From Game 1, the Locos struggled. Ayersville took the set 25-13. Rebounding was difficult for the Montpelier girls, and they dropped game 2 12-25. Finally finding some rhythm, the Locomotives attempted to mount a comeback. The Lady Pilots rode momentum to the victory, however, and Montpelier lost game 3 and the match 18-25.
Lady Loco Hannah Blake had a solid day across the board, accumulating 11 digs, 10 assists, and a team leading 7 kills, as well as an ace. Landri McKelvey led the team in assists with 13, in addition to 6 digs and an ace. Christy Duchene wouldn’t let the ball hit the Montpelier side of the court, racking up 18 digs to go with her single ace.
