Montpelier, North Central Pettisville, And Stryker Run In Liberty Center Invitational

(September 20th, 2014)-LIBERTY CENTER: Four area school took part in the Liberty Center Invitational on Saturday; Stryker, Montpelier, Pettisville, and North Central. There wer ninety-six boys and sixty-eight girls running in the invitational.

The Stryker boys took ninth place as a team, and were led by Hunter Lilleholm’s time of 20:40. Trevin Rhoades finished the race at 21:11, while Dustin Teschke did so just thirty seconds later at 21:41.

The Lady Panthers claimed fourth place overall. Shi’Ann Whitman gave Stryker a boost with her time of 22:07. Paige Speelman was right behind her teammate at 22:09. Fellow Panther Megan Graber completed the course at 23:01.

For the Locos, Michael Blake came in eleventh place, running an 18:08 and winning a medal. Also earning medalist honors was teammate Alec Waterston with his time of 18:55. Austin Miller took home thirty-eighth place with a time of 19:56 for Montpelier as well.


Montpelier’s Jacqueline Carlson was t0e third runner to cross the finish line, running a 20:46 and earning a medal. Jessica Earle turned in a 28:25 for the Lady Locos, with teammate Haley Suffel finishing two minutes later at 28:27.

North Central’s boys earned a seventh place finish. Trenton Sakos led the way with a fifteenth place finish at 18:29. Teammate Jason Vasaar came in twenty-third place by clocking in at 18:57. Adam Knepper completed the race at 19:56 for the Eagles.

As for the Lady Eagles, they came in sixth place as a unit. Emma Zenz came in thirtieth place, running a 23:29. Brooke Schoffield turned in a 25:16, while teammate Sam Vasaar was the next Lady Eagle to cross the line at 26:32.


For the Pettisville boys, Kyle Lantz took fifth place with his time of 17:03. Jacob Hauter finished eighteenth at 17:42. Ben Gray ran a 19:15.

Alexa Leppelmeier took fifth place in the girls heat for Pettisville, completing the track in 20:19. Seventh place also belonged to the Lady Blackbirds, thanks to Nichole Foor and her time of 20:46. Fellow Blackbird Elizabeth Miller took twenty-seventh place, running a 23:03.
