GROWING BUSINESS … Wendy Walz held a soft opening for her business, Wispy Willow Farms, with the help of her husband Derek this past weekend. The soft opening, held during Montpelier’s Bean Days, gave the community a sneak peak look into what all will be offered at the store front.

Wispy Willow Farm held a soft opening for Montpelier’s Bean Days weekend. Wispy Willow Farm, founded in 2014 by Wendy and Derek Walz, specializes in natural goat milk bath and body products.
Originally working out of a set aside space in their home’s basement the business has blossomed, and Wendy’s operation needs have outgrown their space.
So, in April of 2023 they bought the building space at 204 W Main Street in Montpelier and began working on remodeling the space to fit their needs.
The building space holds not only a store front for Wispy Willow Farms to call their own, but also a full production area in the back of the building. Their renovation of the building has revealed a beautiful space in which is both calm and relaxing.
The exposed brick along the walls is an added touch of elegance to the space and helps aide in the welcoming atmosphere.
The exposed brick isn’t the only work they’ve done. From the lighting and floors to the displays within the building, the rustic authentic feels flood the space in which Wispy Willow Farms now calls home to their business.
Wendy, along with the support and help of her family, makes all her products herself. Products include a wide variety of personal care items including lotions, scrubs, body butters, lip balms, soaps, beard balms and oils and a few other items all featuring natural goat milk.
Of all the items they offer, Wispy Willow Farms new space also features special displays for little ones, men, and specialty items like their unique poison ivy soap.
Their soft opening this past weekend was really a tease for what is to come for their grand opening in which Wendy revealed would be full of “fun surprises”. The business will also be taking on selling home decor once they open in a few weeks.
Wispy Willow Farms will hold their grand opening on August 24th from 10am-2pm. The grand opening will feature prizes, giveaways, food and drinks, and new items on display.
