Nancy Saunders, born July 14, 1947, in Rogers, Arkansas to the late Herbert Eugene Saunders of Wauseon, Ohio and Alta Joe (nee Brown) of Rogers Arkansas, died peacefully with family beside her at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio, on January 24, 2023, aged 75 years.

A 1965 graduate of Wauseon High School, Nancy furthered her education at Great Lakes Bible College in Christian Education and nursing at Lansing Community College.

As her walk with Christ developed, Nancy worked in her life as Telephone Operator, Nurse, Missionary and ultimately as Program Director of Casa de Ninos, a Christian home for the treatment and care of profoundly disabled and developmentally delayed children in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Regardless of their impairment or level of disability, Nancy ensured a loving home for otherwise unadoptable and abandoned children for 17 years.

After retirement, Nancy moved back to Wauseon Ohio where she lived until passing.

Nancy is survived by sisters Malinda Sue Maltman (the late Phillip), Hazel Sharon Upperco (the late Sterling), Mary Jo Harbor (the late Michael); brothers Herbert Lee (Laura) and Charles Melvin (Julia) Saunders along with many nieces, nephews, and other children that she loved as her own.

Family requests any donations in her memory to the missions’ program at Garden Park Christian Church 6520 Pilliod Road, Holland, Ohio 43528.

Garden Park Christian Church served as Nancy’s primary patron for her mission work.

Nancy’s family is handling her arrangements with a graveside service at the family’s convenience.
