Normagene Schlosser (1929-2013)

Normagene “Jean” Schlosser passed away peacefully on April 16, 2013 at Heartland of Wauseon. Jean was born in Montpelier, Ohio on Sept 17, 1929, the daughter of Vera (Ball) and Guy Keezer. Jean was married to Howard “Snooks” Schlosser on November 20, 1948 and was blessed with three sons. She was also baptized at First Christian Church in Wauseon in 1967.

Jean is survived by one son, Brett (Sheila) Schlosser of Ada, Michigan. Also surviving are daughter-in-laws, Bev Schlosser of Wauseon, Oh and Lynette Schlosser of Delta,Oh, grandchildren: Kaely, Collin, Wesley, Jacob, Cabe, Logan, Heather & Brandon and 4 step great grandchildren. Jean’s surviving siblings include Corey Spieser of Defiance Oh, Shirley Grant of West Unity, Robert(Annette)Kline of Ney, Oh and sister-in-law Ormalee (Merle) Koeppe of Evansport, Oh.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Snooks” Schlosser (1977) two sons, Shawn Schlosser (2010) and Brooks Schlosser (2012)and her longtime companion, David Peters in February of 2013. Siblings preceding her in death were Jack Keezer, Thelma Maberson, Mildred Hintz, and Linda Gorsuch.

Jean and her husband, Snooks, along with Glen and Frances Schlosser operated the Enterprise Dry Cleaners for many years beginning back in the 1950’s. Jean was a nifty lady and gifted with many talents. She enjoyed sewing, wallpapering gardening, and decorating her home. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she enjoyed taking them on fishing and frog hunting excursions at Oak Openings Park on many occasions. She was an excellent cook and was always making special goodies for her grandchildren. She loved to play cards with her lady friends and she could “shop till ya drop” like no other. She will be missed by all who knew her and most recently her “extended family” at Heartland of Wauseon.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 P.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon, with the Rev. Charles Althoff, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of donor’s choice or Emmaus Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
