Montpelier Board Of Education Votes On Personnel Contracts

The Montpelier Board of Education meeting was held on Tuesday the 22nd at 5:30 PM. The meeting was called to order and a roll call was initiated. After Roll call there was a moment of silence followed by the pledge of Allegiance.

The Board then voted to enter an executive session. Following the executive session, the board opened the floor to public participation.

A motion was made to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes from the regular monthly meeting of May 11th.

The following took place in Financial Reports.

It was recommended to approve the financial reports for the month of May 2021.

It was recommended to accept the following donations: The CWU Thrift Shop for $1000.00 to a scholarship and from Winzeler Stamping Company for $2000.00 for the John B. Dwyer Scholarship.

A recommendation was made to approve the return of transfers made to the Athletic Fund from the General Fund in the amount of $30,000.

It was recommended to approve the return of an advance to the Cafeteria Fund from the General Fund in the amount of $100,000.

A recommendation was made to approve the following “Then and Now” purchase orders in accordance with ORC Section 5705.41.

A recommendation was made to approve the Temporary Appropriations for FY2022, in the total amount of $16,594,354.29 for all funds.

The following took place for Employment of Certificated Staff and Classified Staff.

Recommended approving the resignation of Caleb Wyse as the elementary music teacher effective June 22nd, 2021.

Recommended to move Blayne Bible to Masters for the 2021-2022 school year pending all requirements being met.

Recommended to approve Kindergarten Screening supplemental contracts for Stacey Brown, Charlene Johnson, Lauren Rickenberg and Kaley Thorp effective June 1st, 2021.

Recommended Yolanda Saneholtz to EMIS coordinator/HS Secretary.

Recommended Keshia Shoup to move to step 3 on the school nurse salary schedule.

Recommended to move Troy Christman to an 8 hour per day Credit Recovery Supervisor.

Recommended to approve Jacob Nobis as a 7 hour per day district substitute.

Recommended to approve Alisha Birdsall and Kaitlin Harter as a 7 hour per day paraprofessional.

Recommended to approve Troy Roth as a 2 hour per day paraprofessional.

Recommended to approve Kindergarten Screening Supplemental contracts for Robert Mercer and Keshia Shoup effective June 1st.

Recommended to approve a supplemental contract for Todd Friend, Varsity Football Assistant Coach.

In Policies it was recommended to approve PO 2370.01 – Reissued Blended Learning.

The following was for Purchases and Service Contracts.

It was recommended to approve the agreement with Ohio Guidestone to provide behavioral health services for the coming school year.

It was recommended to approve a student counseling service agreement with Crosswinds, Inc for counseling services for the coming school year.

It was recommended to approve the technical services agreement with NBEC to provide technical services through NWOCA effective July 1st, 2021.

It was recommended to approve the agreement with Kent State University for speech services for the coming school year.

A service agreement was recommended with NBEC/NWOCA for VOIP phone services for the period of July 1st, 2021, to June 30th, 2023, for a total cost of $39,097.61.

It was recommended to approve and agreement with Midwest Community Health Associates to provide athletic trainer services for the coming school year.

It was recommended to approve an agreement with the Village of Montpelier for the services of the Juvenile Resource Officer for the coming school year.

The following took place during other business.

Recommended to approve the records commission to dispose of records.

Recommended to approve the Montpelier Public Library 2022 purposed budget.

Recommended to approve the JH/HS Student and Parent Handbook for the coming school year.

Recommended to approve the administrative salary schedule for the coming school year.

Recommended to approve the cell phone and uniform stipends for the coming school year.

Recommended to approve the school lunch prices for the coming school year.

Recommended to approve Rylan JoHantgen and Kelly Schaffter as light and sound technicians at $25 for the first hour and $10 and hour after the first hour.

Recommended to adopt a resolution seeking a waiver from the Ohio Department of Education requirements to implement a Career Technical Expansion program for students enrolled in grades 7 and 8.

Recommended to approve Amy Prekop to graduate early with a 2021 diploma.

The meeting was then adjourned.
