(October 9th, 2014)-PETTISVILLE: Thanks in large part to the 18 digs, 10 kills, and 5 aces of Jordyn Pursel, the Lady Blackbirds laid claim to their tenth Buckeye Border Conference (BBC) victory of the season when they took down Hilltop on Thursday.

Not only did Pettisville win every match against BBC opponents this year, but every set as well. Winning every game of every match is quite an accomplishment, and doesn’t happen very often in the sport.

In the defeat, Veronica Roth made 7 digs, 1 assist, and 1 ace. Fellow Cadet Ariana Brown recorded 6 blocks to go along with her 4 kills. Baylee Schmitt and Felicity Jackson each added 4 assists to the Hilltop effort.

From the start of the match, the Cadets struggled in the match. They dropped game 1 10-25. Pettisville withstood a Hilltop rally in game 2, claiming the set 25-18. The third set belonged to the Blackbirds as well, with the girls of Pettisville earning a 25-12 victory to take the match.

Dana Fricke was a force for Pettisville, making 19 kills, 8 digs, and a block. Teammate Kate Kauffman had 23 assists and 4 kills on the evening. Stephanie Hubbie made 20 digs, 2 aces, and a kill for the Blackbirds as well.
