(October 14, 2014)-PETTISVILLE: In their first sectional game of the post-season, the Blackbirds played host to the Liberty Center Tigers. They weren’t very hospitable, however, as they defeated the Tigers 5-0 in the match.
A major reason for Pettisville’s scoring binge was the sheer number of shots they took at the at the Liberty Center goal. The hometown Blackbirds targeted the visiting team’s net twenty times in total, compared to the Tigers’ miser two.
At least five of those shots came from Jakob Waidelich, Jordan Bontrager, Josh Liechty, Matt Hulbert, and Nick Brink, who each contributed a goal to the Pettisville victory effort.
