August 30th-McCLURE: Against fields of eight and six teams respectively, the Pettisville girls and boys cross country teams held their own at the Ostego Invitational.

It was the Lady Blackbirds who shined at the event, however. Led by the performance of two top ten finishers, the girls of Pettisville took third place as a team. Alexa Leppelmeier brought home fourth place for Pettisville, finishing the race at 21:44. Less than ten seconds later, Elizabeth Sauder took sixth place with a time of 21:52. Thirteenth place belonged to Blackbird Nichole Foor thanks to her time of 22:55.

The Pettisville boys also claimed fourth place overall in the race. That honor belonged to Kyle Lantz and his time of 17:37. Teammate Jacob Hauter completed the race just over a minute later, at 18:40, to take twelfth place. Ben Gray finished in twenty-second place, running a 20:19.

These times were good enough for the Blackbirds to finish fourth at the event.
