August 30th-DEFIANCE: It was the Indians of Wauseon who stood victorious at the Defiance Boys Golf Invitational on Saturday. That’s a claim fourteen other teams present at the event couldn’t make.
Wauseon was led by medalists David Williams and Trevor Dominique. Williams fired a 74, the lowest score of the day by five strokes. Dominique was one of two competitors to get that close to his teammate, shooting a 79. Brady Rupp turned in an 84, and Anna Marshall an 89 to give the Indians a total score of 326.
Tanner Clingaman, of Stryker, also earned medalist honors at the event, swinging his way to a 79. Hayden Clingaman shot an 84 for the Panthers. Rounding out scoring for Stryker, Chad Ruffer shot an 87, and Austin Frisbie a 92. As a team, Strker shot a 342, good for third place.
North Central also competed at the event, taking twelfth place with their score of 383. Jordan Reeves led the way for the Eagles with a 93.
