(September 27th, 2014)-EDGERTON: With thirteen teams in attendance, the Pettisville Junior High Cross Country Teams looked to establish itself at the Edgerton Invitational. Solid performances from both the boys and girls units did just that, with the boys taking sixth place at the event, and the girls eighth.
Logan Rufenacht led the charge for Pettisville, running an 11:39 to earn a thirteenth place finish. Caleb Nolander was the seventeenth runner and second Blackbird to complete the course, clocking in at 12:05. Tony Stuckey crossed the finish line at 13:47 on Pettisville’s behalf.
Fayette took second place for the boys heat, while Stryker was close behind at third. North Central earned seventh place, and Montpelier ninth place. Edon took home eleventh place, while Hilltop finished in twelfth place.
With just two girls running, it was difficult for the Lady Blackbirds to hold a spot amidst the pack. A tenth place finish by Kelly Miller at 15:08 helped, though. Madeleine Wixom took down twenty-first place with a time of 16:22 for Pettisville as well.
Montpelier was third in scoring for the girls, with Edon and Fayette right behind them at fourth and fifth place, respectively. Stryker took tenth place, and North Central twelfth.
