Pettisville Leaves Edon With Win

(September 18th, 2014)-EDON: Pettisville made their way to Edon on Thursday night, set on establishing themselves as the team to beat in the BBC. And that’s exactly what they did, defeating a strong Bomber team in straight sets.

All three games were closely contested. The first set was a tight one, with Pettisville pulling ahead late to win the game 25-20. Game 2 went much the same way, with the Lady Blackbirds again coming up with a 25-20 victory. Edon gave one last effort to rally, but Pettisville was ready, taking game 3 and the match 25-17.

Dana Fricke and Jordyn Pursel had dynamic performances, ,making 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Kate Kauffman spent her evening setting things up for them with 17 assists along with 6 kills of her own. Stephanie Hubby led the team with 20 digs and had 2 aces as well.

In the loss, Alex Kiess led the Bombers with 4 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces, and 1 dig. Teammate Kaela Gearhart made 6 assists and a dig. Nicole Newell had 4 digs, 3 kills, and an assist for Edon as well.
