Pettisville Loses To Archbold In First Game Of Double Header

(June 4th, 2015) – PETTISVILLE: Hosting their neighbors to the west for a double header, things got off to a rocky start for the Blackbird boys of Pettisville.

The Archbold Bluestreaks made the trek to Pettisville, intent on raiding the Blackbirds’ nest for a pair of wins.  Both teams had a strong showing during Spring season by both squads, with the Streaks maintaining a 17-4 mark, compared to the 11-7 record which netted Pettisville a share of the Buckeye Border Conference title.  Thus the match-up was a highly anticipated affair.

The first game was a struggle for the Blackbirds, however.

Defensively, Pettisville simply couldn’t slow down the Archbold attack.  Instead, the Bluestreaks scored throughout the contest, putting a significant amount of pressure on the hometown boys’ offense.  THe Pettisville bats had issues as well, only driving in a single run in the contest.

The Blackbirds fell to Archbold 13-1.
