QUARTER AWARD … At the third quarter Power in the Purse (PIP) meeting, the women’s giving circle affiliated with the Bryan Area Foundation voted to award $6,725 to Open Hands Caring Hearts Food Pantry. The faith-based organization in the New Life Worship Center collects and distributes food, clothing, and paper and hygiene products to Northwest Ohio residents. Each week 130-160 families pick up much-needed items at the church. Cheryl Sanders, Director of Open Hands Caring Hearts Food Pantry, said the PIP grant will allow them to purchase more items and provide for even more people in our area. Pictured during the check presentation are left to right PIP Publicity Director Karin Bowers, Sanders, and New Life Worship Center Pastor Jeff Miller. In its ninth year, PIP has donated over $219,000 to 39 local projects, helping them continue their mission and improve our area and people’s lives. If you want to make a difference in our community, consider joining us at our next quarterly meeting on Thursday, October 31.
