The Pulaski Township Trustees met on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to address administrative updates, policy revisions, and roadway matters during their regular meeting.
Chair Tom Saul, Terry Witte, Scott Noble, and Fiscal Officer Deanne Batterson were in attendance. Road Supervisor Steve Hobeck and Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder were also present.
The Trustees first reviewed fund statutes and provided an update regarding the township’s ongoing state audit, which remains in progress.
Updates to the township handbook were also discussed, which was last revised in 2024.
The newly presented revisions were approved for further review, with members noting additional updates may still be necessary moving forward.
Several resolutions tied to governmental safety and compliance requirements under the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) were also approved during the meeting.
Among them was a records retention policy and schedule. Fiscal Officer Batterson recommended the township move forward with a standard 10-year retention schedule for all records.
A records retention disaster plan, fraud prevention training, and cybersecurity plan updates were also approved.
In roadway business, Pulaski Township is pursuing an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) road sign grant that could provide up to $50,000 for replacement signage if awarded.
The final application must be submitted by June 5, 2026. Road Supervisor Hobeck and Noble plan to review existing signs and determine which are in need of replacement.
Hobeck reported that a “road closed ahead” sign located near County Road 16 and County Road C had been destroyed by a vehicle.
A report was filed with the Williams County Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident. Repair costs will be finalized soon.
Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder provided his report, stating that the township currently has two active permit applications and is investigating two zoning violations.
Trustees also noted that a rezoning hearing is expected to be scheduled in the coming months.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. The next Pulaski Township meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
