The Pulaski Township Trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, July 14. Trustees present were Scott Noble, Terry Witte, and Tom Saul. Also, Fiscal Officer Deanne Batterson, Zoning Inspector Todd Burkholder, and Road Supervisor Steven Hobeck were present.

With the upcoming construction on the township building roof that was heavily damaged from the recent storms, Noble made the motion to approve Beilharz Architects of Defiance in moving forward with the outline that engineer Kent Purk had sent to the township to get state-approved plans for the project.

The plans involve the addition of a wood truss system to be installed on the roof. The township is hoping the project can be completed by January 2027.

Total cost for the engineering work and permits involved is $7,500.

Zoning Inspector Report
Burkholder reported on the recent zoning commission hearing regarding the commercial use permit issued last month to Ben Riehle.

He said the final decision goes through the trustees to approve the permit request from Riehle, changing it from commercial use to residential use.

Trustees then approved a resolution for the change, which will take effect in 30 days. Burkholder also approved a property split permit for Gene Andres.

Other Business
Trustees were updated on cybersecurity training in which they will be required to be in compliance. Failing to complete the training would leave the township without insurance coverage in the event of a cybersecurity incident.

Trustees discussed a request from Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home for an indigent burial payment involving a township resident.

Noble and Hobeck will be attending an 811-training seminar in Napoleon on Wednesday, July 15.

A resolution to accept the township tax rates for 2027 was approved and will be sent to the county auditor. The meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. Next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 28, at 6:30 p.m.
