A little rain wasn’t enough to keep classic car enthusiasts away as the Montpelier Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off its first Tuesday Night Cruise-In of the 2026 season on June 9.

Despite cloudy skies and occasional showers in downtown Montpelier, cruisers lined the downtown streets with a wide variety of vehicles, from early automobiles and vintage pickup trucks to classic muscle cars and modern vehicles.

Visitors spent the evening admiring the vehicles, visiting with owners, and enjoying the return of one of Montpelier’s favorite summer traditions.

The Montpelier Civic League’s Farmers Market was held alongside the cruise-in in the Main Street Station Alley.

The market featured a variety of local vendors offering baked goods, flower arrangements, maple syrup, and even a “cake cart” from Patty Cakes bakery.

The Chamber also held its traditional 50/50 drawing and door prize giveaways during the event. Winners for the evening included Paul Frisby, Bill Essman, and Frank Dewitt.

Special recognition was given to this week’s sponsor Andres O’Neil & Lowe Insurance and organizer Chris Kannel for helping make the event possible.

The Tuesday Night Cruise-Ins will continue throughout the summer, with the next event scheduled for June 23, 2026. Cruise-ins are planned from 5-8 p.m. through August in historic downtown Montpelier.
