Scoring Summaries for Friday, April 16, 2016:

 

VARSITY SOFTBALL

Hilltop 5, Pettisville 3

The Cadets scored twice in the extra eighth inning to gain the BBC victory. Colleen Bell drove in two runs for Hilltop while Allie Schmitt added one.  Kaija Blosser and Jasmyn Barton had the RBI for the Blackbirds. Pettisville had nine hits during the game while Hilltop had seven. Aubrey Wyse pitched 5.2 innings for the winners and allowed eight hits giving up three runs and striking out two.  Kyra Behnfeldt pitched the complete game for the Blackbirds and gave up five runs on seven hits and fanned 11 Pettisville batters.


 

Archbold 9, Wauseon 2

The Bluestreaks broke out to a 6-0 lead after the third inning on way to their NWOAL win. Macy Rupp, who slammed a home run for Archbold, and Brooke Hines were each two for three at the plate. Oliviah Banister had one hit, a double for Wauseon, that drove in a run. Ana Lozano was two for three for the Indians. Payton Robinson allowed three hits giving up two runs for the Bluestreaks while striking out three.  Alisa Shelt pitched the complete game for Wauseon yielding eight hits and striking out seven.

 

Delta 7, Montpelier 6


The Locomotives made a game of it in the top of the seventh with four runs to tie It up.  But the Panthers responded with one run in the bottom half to squeak past Montpelier for the NWOAL win. Offensively for Delta, Emily Clifton finished two for three including a single, double and a RBI. Darian Elendt had three singles for Delta. Madi Nadolny was two for three with a pair of singles and Alexa Tenney was two for four with two singles and two RBI. R. Stoy led Montpelier finishing two for four with a single, double and two RBI. Erin Prekop was two for three with a single, double and one RBI, Haley Suffel was two for four with two singles and a RBI and Mikayla Schilt finished two for four with two singles. Alexis Nemire took the loss for the Locomotives pitching two inning.

 

Edon 15, Lakewood Park Christian (IN) 7

Despite 14 Lakewood hits, the Bombers used 10 runs over the fifth and sixth innings to prevail in the non-conference win. S. Hiller and S. Manahan led the way for Edon with three RBi each on two for three hitting. Z. Neubig added two RBI with her one hit and E. Zulch,  H. Kaylor, F. Livensparger contributed with one RBI each.  J. Runyan pitched three innings giving up six runs on seven hits and striking out two. S. Mason pitched the final four innings and allowed one run on seven hits with three strikeouts.

 

VARSITY BASEBALL


Hilltop 5, Pettisville 0

Quinn Smith tossed a one-hit shutout along with 11 strikeouts to earn the BBC victory. It was a 1-0 Hilltop lead until the Cadets crossed home plate four times in the fifth inning. Hilltop was led at the plate by Cole Haynes who was two for three including a double and three RBI. Tyler Suboski and Ryan Brooker had two hits apiece in four at bats. Landon Roth got the sole hit for the Blackbirds.

 

Wauseon 8, Archbold 7

The Indians used four seventh inning runs to stay undefeated in NWOAL play. Brady Kinnersley led the way offensively as he finished two for three with a double and one RBI. Carter Bzovi was two for four with two RBI and Josh Whitcomb added one RBI on two for four hitting. Toby Walker and Ian Radabaugh were two for three for the Bluestreaks with Radabaugh contributing one RBI. Ben Bucklew had a solo shot that drove in two runs. Brady Rupp, pitching 1.1 innings got the win for Wauseon. Lathon Babcock went 6.1 innings for Archbold allowing seven runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.

 

Stryker 10, North Central 7

Colton Benson got the start and faced 19 batters. He allowed three runs on two hits and struck out six. Colton Schmunk threw the complete game for the Eagles as he faced 38 batters in six innings and allowed 10 runs on 10 hits while striking out two. Brody Shock belted a home run and ended with three RBI for Stryker. Chad Ruffer and Cameron Frey had two RBI each for the Panthers. Other RBI came off the bats of Jackson Wonders and Thomas Bost. Izayah Ferguson reached base twice with two singles and Colin Anders and Austin Frisbie also collected one single apiece. North Central was led offensively by Dalton Joice with two RBI on two singles. Dakota Pitts added an RBI and David Pinc and Michael Pryslak contributed with one single each.

 

Fremont (IN) 7, Edon 2

The Bombers crossed the state line to take on Fremont, IN.  The Bombers were held to two runs on five hits. Levi Brandt had two singles for Edon and Colton Lyman added a RBI on one single. Braden Miller took the loss giving up five runs on seven hits while striking out four.

 

VARSITY TENNIS

Wauseon 3, Toledo Central Catholic 2

The Indians used a win at third singles and then swept the doubles matches to defeat the Irish. Evan Kost won in third singles over Jacob Scally 6-7, 6-3, 7-6. In doubles play Taylor Wilcoxon and Brady Blaylock won in first doubles 7-5, 6-2 over Kennedy Broadwell and Cody Lepiarz while Tristan Uribes and Jones Allen defeated Julie Eagle and Sam Cunningham 6-4, 6-2.
