THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6  SCORING SUMMARIES:

BOYS VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY

Edon defeated Hilltop 21-36 in dual meet. The top 10 finishers included: 1) Cameron Reed-E-19:21, 2)Sam Hartman-H-19:25, 3)Drew Walkowski-E-19:53, 4)Hunter Hodapp-E-20:12, 5)David Carpenter-H-20:26, 6)Chad Howard-E-20:55, 7)Jake Long-E-20:58, 8)Baron Bleikamp-H-21:06, 9)Blake Funkhouser-H-21:16, 10)Cameron Seibenaler-E-21:20.

GIRLS VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY


Edon ran Hilltop, although the Bombers did not have enough runners for a team score, the top five finishers included: 1)Landrey Brown-H-22:52, 2)Kara Brown-H-23:44, 3)Wendy Braun-E-24:31, 4)Sydni Rivera-H-24:37, 5)Shanti Wyse-H-26:10

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER

Pettisville 3, Maumee Valley Country Day 0


The Blackbirds limited MVCD to two shots on way to their shutout victory. Pettisville goals were scored by:  Detric Yoder, Landon Roth and Canidate Vickery. The Blackbirds finished with 13 shots on goal.

Bryan 1, Bowling Green 0

The Golden Bears traveled to Bowling Green and gained the non-league win.  Bleus Creek scored the goal for the Golden Bears on an unassisted volley.  Evan Smith recorded 1 save as goal keeper.  Bryan’s record is now 9-2-3, 3-0-1 NWOAL.

Toledo Whitmer 5, Delta 0


Whitmer set the pace of the game early in the non-league games with a goal by Eric Filby three minutes in. Delta held them off for a time after that but Whitmer’s Jacob Hernandez put their second goal in the net at the 22 minute mark. Jacob Filby followed up that goal with two of his own, one at the 37 minute mark and one 5 minutes into the second half. Justin Mendoza put Whitmer’s fifth and final goal in 14 minutes into the second half.

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER

Bryan 0, Defiance 0

The Golden Bears moved to  (5-3-4, 3-1 NWOAL) as they finished with their fourth tie of the season. Lauren Robinson had six saves in goal for Bryan.

JUNIOR HIGH SOCCER

In two games this week, Pettisville recorded one loss and one win. In their first outing,

the Blackbirds were defeated by Maumee Valley Country Day School, 3-1. MVCD went up 3-0 in the fist half, but were held off by the Pettisville defense in the second half, while Isaac St. John reduced the deficit by one with a long shot on goal. On Thursday the Blackbirds were on the positive side of the scoreboard with a 9-0 win over Emmanuel Christian School. Pettisville’s scoring was opened by Heath Waidelich. Elise Hartzler scored on a corner kick by Brayden Barrett, who also assisted Isaac St. John on one of his three goals. Blake Eyer assisted twice and finished an assist from Ben Morris. Bryce Beltz added a hat trick for Pettisville.

The Blackbirds will look to finish the season with a win Monday at MVCDS.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Pettisville remained unbeaten in conference play with a three set win over Hilltop with scores of  25-14, 25-13 and 25-13. The Blackbirds stats included: Kyra Behnfeldt- 11/12 Serving w/5 Aces, 15 Digs; Teagan Kauffman- 9/11 serving with 1 Ace, 30/33 Hitting w/10 Kills; Morgan Leppelmeier- 14/16 Serving w/2 Aces,  17/19 Hitting w/7 Kills; Jess Youse- 12/13 Serving w/3 Aces, 20/22 Hitting w/14 Kills, 4 Solo Blocks, Carly Bontrager- 14/15 Serving w/4 Aces

73/75 Setting w/30 Assists;  Sami Tilley-8/10 Hitting w/6 Kills. The Cadets were led by Ariana Brown who finished with four kills on 13/13 attacking. Johnnie Roth was 8/8 serving with five aces.

North Central defeated Stryker with scores of  25-13, 26-24, 25-22. The Eagles were led by:

Makayla Knapp with 25 assists and 18 digs, Makayla Hayes with 11 kills, and Makayla Rizor with 15 digs.

Montpelier was a three set winner over Fayette with scores of 26-24, 25-14 and 25-21. The Locomotives improved to 6-13 and 5-6 in the BBC. The Lady Locos were led by Caitlyn Nixon who had six kills and five blocks, Rebekah Carr and Morgan Eriksen each had six kills and Jaelyn Lyons had three kills to go along with her five blocks. (No game stats were submitted for Fayette).

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Pettisville was a two-set winner over Hilltop with scores of 25-22, 25-14. The Blackbirds were led by: Ryeana Klopfenstein – 13/15 serving, 6 aces, 11 digs, 9/11 hitting, 3 kills; Mikayla Graber – 20/21 setting, 17/18 hitting, 3 kills;  Danielle King – 12/14 hitting, 4 kills;  Jordan Skates – 7/7 hitting, 2 kills;  Mauricea Crouch – 45/47 setting, 7 assists. Pettisville improved to 12-8, 7-4 BBC.

Stryker defeated North Central in two sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-17. (No game stats were submitted.)

Montpelier defeated Fayette 25-9 and 25-16 to improve to 7-12, 5-6 in the BBC.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL

North Central 7th grade defeated Stryker in two games 25-19, 25-10.  They are currently 15-1 on the season.  The Eagles 8th grade team followed suit defeated Stryker in two games 25-20 and 25-18. They are now 8-8 on the season.

Hilltop defeated Pettisville in eighth grade action with scores of 25-21 and 25-22. The Cadets also were victorious in the seventh grade match with scores of 25-14 and 25-3.
