Shirley M. Wyse, age 92 years, of Pettisville, passed away Saturday morning, September 10, 2022, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
Shirley was born November 18, 1929 to Lucas and Lavina (Wyse) Frey. She was the fifth of five children that all preceded her in death.
Ernest, Lucille, Dorothy, Maurice, and Shirley ten years behind Maurice. It was as if she were an only child that spent most of her time with adults.
Entertaining herself resulted in her love for reading, writing (3 books), painting, sculpting, and a love for learning about everything until the very end.
On December 21, 1947 she married Marvin S, Wyse, and he preceded her in death in 1996, they had 5 children, Luana Esterline (Gary), Anthony (who preceded her in death), Scott, Jon (Jackie) and Lisa Snook (Steve). She was blessed with and extremely proud of her six grandchildren, Tully (Tammy) Esterline, Anthony (Amy) and Aaron Snook, Laura (Josh) Wyse, Sarah (David) Dominique and Evan (Carly) Wyse. In addition to all these wonderful lives she got to meet and adore four great grandchildren, Tobey and Lucy Esterline, Annie Wyse, and Alex Dominique.
Shirley was blessed with a beautiful, full, long, and healthy life and she touched many people with her wit, intelligence, kindness and generosity. We miss her already but God had bigger plans for her so we must accept it and carry on her legacy.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 14, at 11AM at Central Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery at 9:30 AM. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home Tuesday September 13 from 5-8 pm.
