Two adults and a child were taken to the hospital after a shooting incident at Pokagon State Park on Saturday night.
Indiana Conservation Officer, Sgt. Patrick Heidenreich, stated that a 911 call was received around 10:45 p.m. reporting gunfire near the toboggan run at Pokagon State Park.
It was revealed that a confrontation between two men led to one man shooting the other in the leg. The injured man was in serious condition and was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital.
Additionally, a nine-year-old girl was hit by a bullet fragment and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Further reports suggested that another individual, who had sustained gunshot wounds to their leg and arm, was being treated at Parkview DeKalb.
Sgt. Heidenreich emphasized that this shooting was an isolated incident and the public was not in ongoing danger.
